Release notes
Check-in v32 and Checkout v20
Released 2026-10-23.
Native Rent version 1.95.
What changed
Check-in
- Check-in now adds stock back for add-ons. This applies to a non-serialized add-on Rentable with Restockable ticked. The line's quantity is added back to the Rentable's Quantity.
- If stock can't be updated, a screen titled "Stock not updated" appears.
Checkout
- If stock can't be read, a screen titled "Stock not read" appears. It says the checkout is saved, no stock was taken for this checkout's add-ons, and stock must be reduced by hand. A warning icon marks the message. The only button is Next.
- On Check-Out Complete, Finish returns you to the rental record.
Booking
- Booking shows every charge except Post-Rental charges. Charges with a blank Charge Due are included.
- A percent fee is based on the Rentable plus its add-ons.
- Lines with a quantity of 0 are blocked.
- Hourly rates are hidden for date-only bookings.
- Booking a non-serialized add-on beyond its stock shows a warning, but the booking is still allowed.
- The fallback fee name is saved on the lines.
Cancel cascade
- Cancelling a rental cancels only its Reserved and Confirmed lines.
- Completed lines are never reopened or changed.
- If any line is checked out or a payment was made, the tax line stays and a negative tax line is added. Its Transaction Type is Tax and its note reads "Tax credit for lines cancelled after checkout or payment". Otherwise all open lines are cancelled.
- The negative tax line has no Start or End date and is set to Completed.
- The kept tax line is set to Completed, unless a line is still Checked Out. Then it stays Checked Out until the rental is completed.
- Later status changes leave Completed lines alone.
- If lines can't be updated, the error reads "The rental lines could not be updated: …".
Permissions
- All access is now in one permission set, Native Rent. Assign it to every Native Rent user.
- Read access to Restockable is in the Native Rent permission set.
- Read and Edit access to the Rentable's Quantity is in the Native Rent permission set.
Known notes
- The Check-in summary's "lines" count is new charge or extra-time lines, not Rentables. "Rentables checked in" is shown separately.
